Ginger Tea

Ginger tea is herbal tea. The underground stem, or rhizome, is both a spice and a medicine. Ginger tea can be fresh or dried. It can also be powdered, oil, or in the form of a juice. Ginger tea is not pure tea as such. It is what is called tisane. Ginger tea is a favorite of many vegans. After making this type of tea, many people prefer adding a bit of lemon, honey, or peppermint as a way of masking the taste of ginger. Many people make this type of tea using two ingredients only; filtered water and ginger. As mentioned above, adding lemon or honey would not destroy the tea, but enhance its taste, although this is optional.
